What do you love most about being a writer?
I enjoy being asked to come up with new characters, and I enjoy the luxury of living in a fantasy world for a while…and in many regards being my own boss.
What do you like least about being a writer?
The isolation that’s required for you to delve deep into your imagination…and the fact that chocolate seems to be essential to the running of that imagination.
Do you have a favorite locale or setting for your novels? What is it and why is it your favorite?
I love Paris, and all of France. I’ve always been a Francophile. But anywhere warm and balmy will do too!
Which of the books you have written is your favorite?
I think ‘The Brazilian’s Blackmail Bargain’ because the idea and the characters from that book were the first to ever pop into my head, even though it didn’t end up being the first book accepted.
What is your favorite recent Mills & Boon or Silhouette or MIRA title by another author?
Favourite recent one is ‘The Brazilian Boss’s Innocent Mistress’ by Sarah Morgan

What one specific piece of advice would you give a would-be writer trying to kick-start a career?
Sit down and do it, and then send it off and if you get rejected just keep trying again and again. If you want it badly enough you’ll get there. Also research the market you’re aiming for.
On Romance…
Describe the ultimate romantic meal.
Would be, on a Malaysian beach, on the Malaysian island of Langkawi…the sun setting…the waves rolling in nearby…(just not so much that they wash you away!)

Never get complacent, try and see things from a new perspective once in a while.

Besides writing, what other talent would you most like to have?
To be able to get up and sing really well, to make the hair stand up on the back of people’s necks.
Who is someone you admire and why?
I admire Mariella Frostrup because she met the love of her life at forty and now has two beautiful children. Well they do say life begins at forty…!
Do you have a good luck charm or superstition?
I’m always watching out for magpies and hate if I see just one. I’m unbelievably superstitious.

Compassion.

Bungee jumping.
